Outlook Known issues in May 2024 updates

Most of these crashes come down to one thing – problematic data files. When they get too large, go corrupt, or are poorly configured, things start to break. While built-in tools like ScanPST offer a basic Safety net, they often fall short when it comes to rectifying deeper file damage. I had picked up on this in the blog post Microsoft Outlook 365 or other MS 365 apps are dropping suddenly errors. Microsoft had confirmed the issue for Windows Server 2016 and 2019 FixTechGuide Office 365 troubleshooting and recommended a downgrade. You can also add the secondary connected accounts (Gmail, Yahoo, etc.) in Outlook.com as additional accounts in the Outlook profile. Your antivirus software can also cause issues with Outlook connectivity.

Until you can install the Windows Update fix release, you can set a registry key that will cause Outlook to stop using the local Windows Search service. When this registry key is set, Outlook will use its own built-in search engine. The built-in search will display the message below to indicate it is not using the Windows Search service. To access the calendar shared with your Microsoft 365 for business account, you'll need to accept the invitation from Outlook on the web, iOS, or Android. If you've already clicked the Accept button in Outlook 2016, you won't be able to re-accept the invitation from another Outlook application. The person who sent you the invitation will need to remove your permissions and then send a new invitation.
